ZONE PUBLICITY OFFICER

As Publicity Officer Bob Bourke is primarily responsible for the reporting and promotion of bowl events staged by Bowls Central Coast Zone 15.

This is achieved by:

• Preparation of editorial articles in support of Zone championship events, Inter Zone representative fixtures, Zone Pennant finals and special Zone days along with supporting photos, for media release

• To prepare a monthly Zone 15 report for BOWLS NSW on the first working day of the months January – October (10 editions)

• To prepare articles of general interest on behalf of the Zone for publication in BOWLS NEWS

• To maximise editorial exposure by developing a close working relationship with the Editor of BOWLS NEWS Central Coast, Editor of BOWLS NSW and fostering key contacts with the Express Advocate.

• To ensure photos of Zone championship winners and Zone pennant winners along with any supporting copy are forwarded to the Zone Web Site manager.

• To prepare a brief bi-monthly Publicity Report for presentation at Zone Management (Delegate) meetings.

• To foster a close working relationship with Club Publicity Officers and provide advice and assistance when called upon

Zone 15 Publicity Officer Bob Bourke has a Sales background and is also currently Publicity Officer at his home Club of Wyong

 

CLUB PUBLICITY OFFICERS

Promoting your Club’s bowling activities is an important task of Club Publicity Officers as it promotes a proactive and progressive image for your Club.

BOWLS NEWS can help Clubs gain positive exposure and is keen to receive editorial articles and information as follows: -  

  • Club Championship results / Profiles of Club champions
  • Details and results of Tournaments / Special days
  • Club milestones and anniversaries,
  • Special achievements of Club bowlers / Profiles on special achievers (past or present) / Profile of special Club identities and characters
  • Recognition of volunteer workers
  • Details and outcomes of Charity / Fundraising and Presidents  Days,
  • The changing face of Clubs through renovations / refurbishments / change of caterers / new greens / Green naming / new uniforms etc.
  • Unless it is a high profile bowler or an exceptionally well-known Bowls Administrator throughout the Zone, Bowls News does not publish Vales as they can be numerous in number and are generally more pertinent to local Club magazines and newsletters.
  • Wherever possible, such editorial information is more complete and entertaining if supported with an appropriate photo or two.
