THREE CHEERS FOR OUR VETS & SUPER VETS

Just on 200 mature age bowlers took to the greens at three clubs across the Central Coast to acknowledge and celebrate their valued contribution to our game. They are the back bone of our sport and Vets (over 70) and Super Vets (over 75) day is one of friendship, fun and catching up with old mates.
At “Sporties” Sam Andrews was listed as the oldest attendee at a spritely 92 years of age. At Terrigal “Scallywag” Allan Olsen at 88 years from Breakers/Wamberal was still giving lessons in drawing shots whilst at Halekulani Arthur Crews and Percy Trapman from Toukley District both showed a clean pair of heels at 89 years of age.
Everyone pitched in to make it a memorable day and a special thank you to Bowls NSW for providing the much valued Vets and Super Vets badges. Also a special vote of thanks to Creighton Funeral Services for sponsoring the day and to the host Clubs of Halekulani, Terrigal and Sporties@Woy Woy for looking after everyone in grand style.
It was all good cheer at Sporties Woy woy
Tucker time at Halekulani provided a pleasant interlude
