Rookies Singles Played in Great Spirits

Halekulani’s Brendan Wrice is hailed the Central Coast’s Rookies champion by runner-up Umina’s Shaw Stokie
Thirty six (36) players took to the greens at diggers@the entrance over the weekend of 12th & 13th August to contest the Central Coast section of the Bowls NSW Rookies Singles. The championship was played in great spirits amongst players with less than 30 months playing experience. Halekulani’s Brendan Wrice and Umina’s Shaw Stokie played outstanding bowls to reach the final undefeated.
For Shaw Stokie who had played a cliffhanger of a semi-final against Woy Woy’s David Dixon the final was an anti-climax with Brendan Wrice dominating the final with a fine display of draw bowling.
Brendan Wrice will now progress to the State finals to be played at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club on the 7th & 8th October 2017
