Yesterday
(29/11/2020) at Wyong Bowling Club 24 Seniors and 24 Open Bowlers
trialled for selection in 2021 Rep Sides. It was not a great day for
bowls. The heat was oppressive, and the gusty wind did help with the
heat, but blew the bowls all over the green.
Originally, they were going to play an am and a pm game, but due to the heat they only played two 10 end games in the morning, which was a big help to the Selectors. Our thanks are extended to the Wyong Club for their hosting of the event and particular thanks to the BBQ'ers who worked in the heat to ensure that all were fed.
The next step for Open players will be the selection of a Zone 15 Open side to represent Zone 15 in the John Smith Shield against Zones 2, 6 and 11 at East Cessnock on the 16th and 17th January 2021. For Seniors it will be selection in the Zone 15 Seniors representative side to play in the seniors trial against Zones 2 and 6 on March 8th at Hamilton North. For emerging players a side of emerging players will be selected to play the NSW RSL State Side on 13th February 2021. Good luck to all the bowlers, not everyone can be selected in future games, but the attendance of everyone on the day was very much appreciated by Bowls Central Coast.
The representative events culminate in the State Inter Zone Sides Championship for Open and Senior sides to be held at Tamworth on the 17th to 22nd May 2021. From there the NSW Side is selected.
Many thanks to Zone 15/BCC Secretary,
