The Entrance pair take out the 2021 Mixed Pairs held at Ourimbah Bowling club on 31st March in a very closely fought final.
This event has been played on Wednesday evenings from 17th February. Seven sections of 4 played in a round robin format with the winners of each section then proceeding to a knockout format which commenced on 10th March and culminated in the final on 31st March.
Semi-finals:
Nicole Parker, Paul Stoicescu (The Entrance) def. Kaye Arnott, Alan Joss (Ettalong)
Joanne Page,(Ourimbah), Kevin O’Neill (Wyong) def. Kym and Michael Launders (Halekulani)
Final:
What a thrilling final between Nicole & Paul and Joanne & Kevin. Both teams played great bowls and the scores were close the whole way. After 9 ends they were level at 9, then there was only 1 or 2 shots the difference . At 14 ends it was 13 to 12 in favour of The Entrance. In a nail biting final end the lead changed several times but The Entrance managed to hold on to take out the event 14 to 12. Congratulations to all players.
Nicole & Paul will now proceed to the Region 6 playoffs to be held on Sunday 18th July in the Lake Macquarie District. We wish them good bowling.
