The Bay Bowlers celebrated their 40th Anniversary



On 29th April 2019, The Bay Bowlers celebrated their 40th Anniversary.

The Bay Bowlers was originally Cencomas, a social sporting club of the Central Coast Masonic Club which was ultimately taken over by the Wyong Rugby League Club around 2000 and traded as WallarahBay. When the Wyong Rugby League Club took over the Wyong Bowling Club in 2003 Wyong became the home club of Cencomas and it was renamed The Bay Bowlers.

The Anniversary celebration was a very enjoyable day and was attended by many old members and former presidents.  The weather was beautiful and it was great to see lots of happy bowlers on the greens, playing yardstick, whilst other old friends caught up with each other inside.
  

The atmosphere was really fun and festive. A barbeque lunch with salad was followed by celebratory cake and everyone received a birthday gift.

Bay Bowlers - By Bowler Update

Visitations play a big part of our year. In 2017 we visited St John’s Park and Maitland Park with return visits to us by these Clubs along with Soldiers Point.
Last September we travelled to Tamworth for our annual stay and this year we are off to Tea Gardens for our 3 night get-away.
We also hosted three ‘sponsored’ days in 2017, firstly with Retire Australia, then Road Runner Tours sponsored our Scroungers Day and our annual Memorial Triples Day which is sponsored by Creightons each year. All of these days are well attended fun days.
2017 Competition Results
Our Ladies singles winner for 2017 was Cynthia Cameron with the runner up Fay Feros. The Men’s singles was won by Peter Yates and Doug Roffey as Runner Up. Our Mixed Pairs winners were Bob Burns and Fay Feros with runners up Cynthia and Graham Cameron. Well done to all.
To finish the year our Christmas Party at WRLC is always a big event and well attended by all. Last year Adrian Las (President) was presented with a Zone and Merit Award by Kevin Dring. Faith Wathelet also received a Merit Award. Congratulations to these two worthy members.

Bay Bowlers - Creightons Memorial

2016 Creightons Memorial Triples
The Bay Bowlers Tenth  annual Creightons Memorial Triples was held at Wyong Bowling Club on Monday 18th  July, The club was well pleased with the teams that entered the event to make the day a success and to fill the two greens. The format for the day was a gold coin donation to enter the 'spider' followed by two games of 10 ends then a delicious pizza  lunch in the clubhouse before going  back out onto the greens for a third game of 10 ends, with the winner to be decided on wins plus margins.

Joan Davis was presented with flowers from Lyn Parkes from Creightons
 Highlight for the day was when Joan Davis  got a “birdie” when a magpie wandered onto the green and was hit by Joan’s bowl
When the scores were tallied up after the last game the winners were Bob Burns skip Margaret Harrison second & Joan Davis lead. Second place went to Alan Webber, Eric Robb & Anna Wilson.                     
3rd Place went to Dave Dash, Mimi Burns and Bob Bourke, 4th Place was Clarrrie Spindler, Sue Robb and Laurel Andrews.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors Creightons Funeral Service it was a green fee free day with the delicious pizza lunch included, and all monies raised from the 'spider' and the raffle is to go to charity.
