Gosford City’s trio of Matthew Pithers, Adam Pinkerton and Peter Freestone answered their critics with a stunning victory over the highly fancied Halekulani team of Michael Stead, Pat Reynolds and Aron Sherriff in the Zone 15 Triples Championship held at Bateau Bay Bowling Club.

The 2010 State Final of the Presidents Reserve Singles and Pairs is being played at Avoca Beach from 2nd to the 5th September. Unfortunately the Zone 15 hope, Terrigal's Ross Welsh fell at the first hurdle just beaten in a close and high quality game. Congratulations to Alan Joss of Everglades (R in photo) for winning the Bowls Central Coast Section of the 2010 RNSWBA Rookies Singles. Runner-up was Dave Thompson (L in photo) of Avoca Beach.
Alan was presented with a Zone Rookies Winners Badge by Ed Radford Secretary of Bowls Central Coast and will represent Zone 15 at the State Finals at Raymond Terrace on the 2nd & 3rd October.
Avoca Beach Bowling Club celebrated it's 50th Aniversary over the weekend of the 28th and 29th August 2010. On the Saturday the Club was visited by State President Ian McKnight who presented the Club with a 50th Aniversay dish which Men's Bowls President Arthur Hales proudly showed to the people at the celebrations. Club greenkeeper Kevin Bowcock unvailed an obilisk that celebrated the day giving details on the people who the Club has honoured by naming a green after them. This included Kevin himself.
The Bowls Central Coast Section of the 2010 RNSWBA Rookies Pairs Championships has been completed and this Zone's representatives at the State Finals at Raymond Terrace in October will be Michael Keane and Chris Jones of Davistown. Runners-up were Craig Ross and Anthony Whitbread of Toukley RSL.
