The Zone 15 Major Pairs was won by Avoca Beach's Les James and Peter Coombes in a very tight 2 shot win over Nick Tongue and Kyle Schwebel of Wyong in the final at Avoca Beach on Sunday 7th Match 2010. Les and Peter defeated the tournament favourites Pat Reynolds and Aron Sherriff by 3 shots in their semi-final. Also congratulations to Fred Dawson and Roy Thompson of Halekulani on winning the Senior Pairs over Umina's Steve Smith and Brian Burrows. However the win of the day was Ettalong's Michael Braham and Allan Quinn winning the President's Reserve Pairs over The Green's David Denniss and Warwick Becroft. As you will see below, Michael and the Mighty Quinn also won the President's Reserve Pairs. A win by either of them in the singles would be a grand slam which has never been done before. For the full results see the Championships Page. (Click the photo to enlarge)

After a brilliant year in which he won the State Senior Singles Title, Lindsay was declared Runner-up Bowler of the Year at the Bowls Central Coast Presentation Day.

At the Bowls Central Coast Presentation Day Lindsay was presented with the Trophy by State Councilor John Peek.
Harley McDonald in NSW 2010 Junior Squad
Ettalong's 16 year old Harley McDonald has been selected in the NSW Junior Squad. Harley has been playing bowls for 5 years and has won numerous Bowls Central Coast Junior Titles. For the past two years he has been playing in the Ettalong Grade 1 Pennant Team, including the 2008 Team that won the Pennant. He was recently selected to play for Country in the traditional City v Country 2 day event and obviously caught the eye of the Selectors. Congratulations Harley.
