In what is now a traditional encounter, a BCC Side of emerging players competed against the RSL State Team at Davistown RSL Bowling Club. The game is of 5 rinks of fours.
While the atmosphere was very social, the competition was intense. The BCC Side started well. After 11 ends of each rink, the BCC Side was ahead by 3 rinks to 1 with the other rink drawn at 13 all. However the RSL Side performed brilliantly to turn the match around in the next 10 ends on each rink. The RSL Side won 4 rinks to 1 and by 120 to 96. (see results below)
The winning rink for BCC was Lead Gary Frost (Gosford City), Second Warren Power (Bateau Bay), Third Russell Johnston (Mingara) and Skip Jeff Kellie (Bateau Bay). Who led by 25 to 4 after the 14th end to fall over the line 27 to 20.
Although there were some other Central Coast winners on the day as Dick Thornton (The Entrance), Michael Fletcher (Davistown RSL) and David Cameron (Gosford City) were playing for the RSL State Side.
Thanks were extended to BCC Director and Chairman of Match, Garry Ellis, for assisting the side by attending to the big score board.
