In the other semi, Bateau Bay’s new bowler eleven (11) year old Billy Waite, defeated fellow club player Chelsea Mackay for a berth in the blue-ribbon final.
Billy Waite has only been bowling since January, so it was a magnificent effort to win his way through to the final in a field of more experienced bowlers. Jarred Crane’s experience shone through in the final, but he had a wake-up call in the opening ends of the final when he trailed 6 nil. Jarred’s draw bowling and consistency, especially on longer ends, was a feature of his wins in both the finals.
Jarred will now contest the Bowls NSW Junior State Single’s championship at Warilla BC in July 2018.
We wish him every success!
