2024/25 CCB Women’s Senior Triples

 


Congratulations to Ginna Bennett, Michelle Treadwell & Gail Sheehan (Munmorah United) defeating Dianne Edwards, Cheryl Butler & Julie Cox (Bateau Bay) in the final of the Women’s Senior Triples this morning at Bateau Bay.
This was a cracking game with the lead changing several times throughout the match!

2024/2025 Mens Triples Championship Final

 

 Nathan Malloy, Lee Trethowan & Darren Morrison, with Central Coast Bowls President Brian Emms.

Congratulations to Nathan Malloy, Lee Trethowan & Darren Morrison of Ettalong (the current Australian Triples Champions) on winning todays Triples Final at Bateau Bay, defeating Peter McCarten, Joel Nouws & Chayne Edwards of Bateau Bay, 28 - 13.
This was a sensational Final, as you would expect. There were many exceptional bowls played by all players, however Nathan Malloy was awarded the 'Spectators Player of the Match. Good luck in the State Triples Play Offs Nathan, Lee and Darren.

2024/2025 Mens Senior Triples Championship Final

 

Barry Pike, Neil Dell & Russell Johnston of Mingara, with Gaye Scarf.  
 

Congratulations to Barry Pike, Neil Dell & Russell Johnston of Mingara Stallions, who defeated Bruce Fullagar, Mark De Hass & Wayne Hesling of Halekulani, 25 - 24, in a last end shootout,
This was a sensational Final, with Mingara holding a small lead, the Hali boys came back and took the lead by 1 shot. Mingara were holing a couple of shots and Wayne killed the end. Mingara picked up 1 shot on the replayed end, to make it 24 all, going in to the last end.
Hali held 2 shots, then Neil Dell of Mingara played two bombs, to hold 2 shots. Russell played two blockers and Wayne had no option but to run at the head. He managed to remove one of Neil's shots, but Mingara still held the winning shot.

2023/24 BCC Open Bowler of the Year Award


 

Mark Wheatley of Wyong Bowling Club wins the Open Bowler of the Year award for 2023/24
Mark achieved 240 points  on the BoY table after winning the Singles, making runner-up in the State singles, and being a Triples semi-finalist.

2023/24 BCC Senior Bowler of the Year Award


 

Tony Shoebridge from Bateau was awarded the BCC Senior Bowler of the Year at Ettalong Bowling Club 
Tony managed to achieve 180 points towards the BOY award by winning the State Triples and the zone singles. He is no stranger to this award having won it in 2018 and 2021.

2023/2024 BCC Reserve Bowler of the Year Award.


The Bowls Central Coast 2023-2024 Bowlers of the Year awards were announced and presented at the BCC Pennant Finals at Ettalong Bowling Club, on Sunday 19th May 2024. Nick Brand of Avoca Beach won this award with 130 points. He achieve this with both a Triples win and a Pairs semi-final. He then when on to make the State Triples Semi-final.

2023-24 State Fours Champions

 

Congratulations to Glen Daley, Paul Villata, Shaune Hamlin, James Cook from Gwandalan on winning the 2023/24 State Fours Championships. The Gwandalan team won their section at Munmorah the previous week, and continued that success by defeating the Davistown team of D Blackmore, W Dickens, S Love, S Starkey, by 28-17 The game was neck & neck until the 14th end, when Gwandalan pulled away and never looked back. Completing what ended up being a comfortable win.

2023-24 Senior Fours Champions

 

Trevor Shoveller, Neil Williams, Wally Cook, Tony Rogers from The Entrance Bowling Club, became the 2023/24 Senior Fours champions, defeating Halehulani’s D. Easton, M. Irvine, A. Dicks, and S. Bambury by 22 shots to 16. Having both won their sections the previous week at Avoca and Bateau Bay. The seahawks team proved too strong on the day for Hale

2023-24 Open Reserve Fours Champions

 

Terrigals’s Scott Webster, Gary McMahon, Jayden Moody and David Brian became the 2023-24 Open Reserve Fours Champions, with a win in the final over Ettalongs T. Foulkes, J. Sylvester, T. Adams & B. Fraser.  Both sides won their sections at Ettalong the previous week and met in the final here at Bateau Bay. The Terrigal boys came from behind, to pick up a 3 on the last end, and win by just one shot, in a very tight game.

2023-24 State Pairs Champions

 


Chayne Edwards and Joel Nouws became the 2023/24 State Pairs Champions at Bateau Bay on Saturday 28th October. Playing the finals, on their home turf, they had a convincing Final win against Ettalongs Darren Morrison & Nathan Malloy 28-22. Joel & Chayne picked up where they left off the previous week at Canon Beach, to complete a clean sweep for Bateau Bay, with all three pairs championship winners being Stingrays.

2023-24 Senior Pairs Champions

 

 
Peter McCarten and Gary Murphy of Bateau Bay defeated Canton beach’s Lee Watson and Eric in the Final of the Senior Pairs at Bateau Bay on Sat 28th October. After winning their section, the previous week at Ettalong, the pair went on to finish the job with a tight 16-15 semi-final win, then a comfortable 24-10 win in the final.

2023-23 Open Reserve Pairs Champions

 

John Woods and Stuart Thompson of Bateau Bay BC became the 2023/24 Open Reserve Pairs Champions on Saturday 28th October. After winning their section at Gosford the previous week, John & Stuart went on to play the semi-final and final on home turf, where  they proved to be too strong for  The Entrance’s Shane Reeves and Stephen Potter. 22-13 was the final score.

2023-24 Veterans Singles Champion Barry Dixon

 


Barry Dixon from the Munmorah United BC is the 2023-24 BCC Veterans Singles Champion who defeated Peter Andrews from the Gosford City BC 21-19 in what turned out to be a great game of draw bowls. Also pictured is Neil Williams from The Entrance BC who marked the Final.
